Job summary

ORBIS Inc. seeks an experienced engineer to support NAVSEA TEAM SUB Submarine Ship Building programs, covering Columbia, Virginia, SSN(X), and related offices.

You will provide technical analysis, design input, and program support for engineering development and integration. The role emphasizes applying science and math to develop economical solutions, analyzing the impact of systems on people and the environment, and overseeing testing and production to ensure quality.

Qualifications

• 10 years professional experience in engineering.
• Experience with naval shipboard electrical and/or propulsion equipment is desirable.
• U.S. citizen and ability to obtain secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Apply the theories and principles of science and mathematics to research and develop economical solutions to technical problems.
• Design products, machinery, implement improved ways to extract, process, and use raw materials, develop new materials that both improve the performance of products and take advantage of advances in technology.
• Analyze the impact of the products developed or the systems designed on the environment and on the people using them.
• Work in testing, production, or maintenance by supervising production, determining the causes of breakdowns, and the testing of manufactured products to maintain quality.
• Estimate the time and cost to complete projects.

Job Description: * Provide support to NAVSEA Team Submarine (TEAM SUB) Submarine Ship Building (SHAPM) Program Offices and supporting organizations: PMS 397 - COLUMBIA Class Submarine Program Office, PMS 450 - VIRGINIA Class Submarine Program Office, PMS 351 - Future Attack Submarine (SSN(X)) Program Office, and SEA 05Z - Marine Engineering Competency Domain.

• TEAM SUB is a combination of Program Executive Office (PEO) Strategic Submarine (PEO SSBN), PEO Attack Submarines (PEO SSN), and PEO Undersea Warfare Systems (PEO UWS) and the Direct Reporting Program Office, AUKUS Integration & Acquisition Office (AUKUS). The TEAM SUB concept divides the single submarine-centric organization into specific PEOs with the goal of enhancing the structures and processes in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communities. Required Skills and Experience: Capable of performing the following functions: * Apply the theories and principles of science and mathematics to research and develop economical solutions to technical problems. * Design products, machinery, implement improved ways to extract, process, and use raw materials, develop new materials that both improve the performance of products and take advantage of advances in technology.

• Desired: Experience with large electrical machines and/or power electronics. Degree Requirements: * Required: Master's level degree in any technical or engineering discipline.
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• A secret security clearance
