CFB is recruiting an Engineer IV (Civil Engineer) to contribute to advanced civil design, field work, and documentation. You will support licensed engineers while pursuing PE licensure, with emphasis on AutoCAD Civil 3D and civil construction.

Based at our Middleton/HQ (The Villages), Orlando (Winter Park), and Palmetto (Bradenton) offices, the role offers growth, mentorship, and opportunities to lead projects as skills develop.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program.
• Engineer-in-Training (EI) certification required; working toward PE licensure.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in civil design and/or construction.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormWise, Bentley hydraulic modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques for projects with complex features.
• Perform advanced design calculations for civil projects (stormwater, earthworks, roads, utilities).
• Prepare plans, specs, cost estimates, permits, schedules, and other docs.
• Work under moderate supervision with general review of completed work.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, agencies, and internal teams to ensure project success.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and staff, review work for accuracy and quality.
• Assist onboarding and training of new team members and share best practices.
• Help delegate tasks, coordinate workloads, and maintain project timelines.
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally, manage conflicts, participate in meetings.
• Progressively take on leadership in project management and client engagement.

We are looking to fill this role immediately, with our primary hiring needs at our Middleton/HQ (The Villages), Orlando (Winter Park), and Palmetto (Bradenton) offices.

Job Description

As an Engineer IV, you will contribute to complex civil engineering projects by performing advanced design, field work, and technical documentation. You will support licensed engineers while developing your expertise and preparing for future licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE). This role is ideal for an experienced civil engineer with advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and a strong foundation in civil design and construction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria for projects with complex features.
• Perform advanced engineering calculations and design tasks for civil projects, including stormwater, earthworks, residential/commercial sites, roadways, utilities, and drainage systems.
• Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, permit applications, schedules, and other project documentation.
• Work under moderate supervision with general review of completed work, applying sound professional judgment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal project members, to ensure project success.
• Provide guidance and oversight to junior engineers and technical staff, reviewing work for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company and industry standards.
• Support the onboarding and training of new team members, sharing technical knowledge, best practices, and project workflows to foster professional development across the team.
• Assist in delegating tasks, coordinating workloads, and helping maintain project timelines and quality expectations.
• Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms, manage conflicts professionally, and participate in official communications for project assignments and meetings.
• Progressively take on increased responsibility and leadership in project management, team development, and client engagement as skills and experience develop.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited programrequired.

• 3+ years of engineering experience in civil design and/or constructionrequired.
