Job summary

Rivers Casino is seeking a qualified Facilities Technician to independently perform high-level repairs and preventative maintenance across multiple trades in a busy casino environment in Schenectady, NY. You will train junior engineers and support staff while ensuring safety, cleanliness, and compliance with gaming standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of general maintenance procedures and training or experience in the field.

• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to obtain all required gaming licenses.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of HVAC systems, plumbing, drywall, carpentry, and electrical functions.
• Perform preventative maintenance on casino equipment on a scheduled basis.
• Repair and maintain surveillance equipment, locks, doors, and access controls.
• Keep facilities clean and in good order; assist with front and back house upkeep.
• Utilize ladders of various heights as part of engineering duties.
• Assist in training lower level engineers and those with different skill sets.

Description

Position Summary: Maintains building by independently making high level and complex repairs. Also, by performing preventative maintenance tasks/projects throughout the casino in more than one trade discipline that may include but not be limited to landscaping, carpentry, painting, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical and kitchen equipment. Assists in training lower level engineers and those with different skill sets.

Target Pay: Start $37.44 One Year - $41.60

Essential Job Functions:

• Knowledge and general repair and maintenance of HVAC systems, plumbing, drywall repair, carpentry, and electrical functions
• Must be certified or licensed in special trade
• Maintain sidewalks in inclement weather as needed
• Maintain a neat and orderly appearance always
• All aspects of maintenance and repair of all the table gaming equipment
• Replace damaged ceiling tiles, floor tiles, and wall coverings
• Perform preventative maintenance to equipment on a scheduled basis
• Repairs surveillance equipment, locks, locksets, specialty locks, door jams, door closures, electronic door locks, mag locks, badge readers, key duplication, key control and distribution
• Handle routine calls, prioritized by leadership and guest service needs
• Keep parking lots and exterior trash receptacles and adjacent areas in a sanitary manner
• Responsible for inventory
• Maintains an inventory of parts and materials
• Assists with the cleanliness of the casino property Front and Heart of House
• Must be able to utilize ladders of various heights, during the course of Engineering duties
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of general maintenance procedures and training or experience in the field.
• Must have a current valid driver’s license
• Driving record must meet driver eligibility requirements of casino’s insurance policy
• Ability to share or divide attention among several ongoing activities, projects or assignments
• Ability to take direction and work effectively independently and as part of a team
• Ability to follow all policies and procedures, including, but not limited to attendance, appearance, safety and security policies
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to obtain all required gaming licenses

Working Conditions:

• Regularly required to see, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms; stand and walk
