Job summary

Horrocks in Utah is seeking an Engineer-in-Training for Site Development to own projects from start to finish. You will prepare site, roadway, drainage and utilities plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, produce design documents, calculations and permit applications, and support cost estimates.

The role requires a civil engineering degree and an EIT certificate, 0–2 years of civil design experience, and strong written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree from accredited civil engineering program.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
• 0–2 years' experience in civil design (drainage, utilities, roadway, development).
• Ability to take direction and work independently while collaborating with teams.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Good technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare site, roadway, grading, drainage, water, and sewer plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Produce project deliverables including technical memoranda, design plans and specifications, and technical reports.
• Prepare supporting calculations, construction specifications, and permitting in various jurisdictions.
• Prepare construction cost models and engineer opinion of probable cost for projects.
• Design development and redevelopment projects for private clients.
• Construction observation and coordination with construction contractors.
