Job summary

RESPEC seeks an Engineer-In-Training for its Land Development sector, based in San Antonio, TX or Castroville, TX. The role focuses on broad land development and public works, with experience across site design, permitting, and project delivery.

The position emphasizes stormwater knowledge and collaboration within design teams, with opportunities for growth in a 100% employee-owned company environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within a year of employment
• 4 years of relevant land development engineering experience in private-sector commercial, residential, and mixed-use land development
• Experience with site civil design, permitting submittals, and project delivery in Texas
• Knowledgeable of stormwater analysis, site drainage, and civil design standards
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD, Hydraflow Express, Bentley storm suites
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for business purposes

Responsibilities

• Assist in land development design and public works projects in Texas
• Prepare engineering reports, civil construction plans, and permitting submittals
• Work within small to mid-sized design teams to deliver projects
• Support stormwater analysis and site drainage design

RESPEC seeks a Engineer-In-Training in our Land Development sector, located in San Antonio, TX or Castroville, TX. The Engineer (EIT) position is intended for a broad land development and public works professional, with experience across site civil design, permitting, and project delivery. Strong stormwater and hydrologic/hydraulic expertise is preferred to support cross-discipline projects, but the role is not limited to stormwater-only practice.

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification or have the ability to obtain within a year of employment
• 4 yearsof relevant land development engineering experience in the following areas:
  • Private-sector commercial, residential, and mixed-use land development
  • Preparing engineering reports, civil construction plans, and permitting submittals
  • Working within small to mid-sized design teams
  • Providing land development engineering services in Texas
  • Knowledgeable of stormwater analysis, site drainage, and civil design standards
• Practical application of various software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD, Hydraflow Express, Bentley storm suites and other common hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel

Preferred Qualifications

• CentralTexas market experience, particularly the San Antonio and Austin regions
• Familiaritywith local and state permitting agencies and development regulations
• Experience onprivate site development and public works projects, including street, drainage, and utility design, as stand-alone assignments or as part of multidisciplinary project teams

Compensation:
