Job summary

Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) in Colorado's Region 2 South Engineering is seeking an Engineer-in-Training II to support design, construction management, and inspection on highway projects under supervision of a PE or Senior PM.

Current enrollment as Engineer Intern is required; PE licensure may substitute. The role involves travel throughout Region 2, in-office start with potential hybrid schedule, and extensive collaboration with consultants and staff to meet project objectives.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment as an Engineer Intern with the Colorado State Board of Licensure for Architects, Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors.
• Licensure as a Professional Engineer may substitute for the internship requirement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for roadway construction projects under supervision.
• Apply engineering principles and calculation methods per CDOT, AASHTO, and applicable standards.
• Utilize design software and manuals to ensure accuracy and consistency in project design and documentation.
• Assist with project management activities, including contract administration and coordination with consultants.
