Job summary

Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is seeking an entry-level Engineer Intern to support highway engineering design and construction projects. Under the guidance of licensed engineers, you will learn and apply engineering processes, prepare plans, and assist with contract administration and documentation.

In this role you will gain practical field experience, develop familiarity with CDOT standards, and progress toward professional licensure while operating within Colorado.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment as an Engineer Intern by the Colorado State Board of Licensure for Architects, Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors.
• One year of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assist with plans, organize and conduct engineering projects.
• Oversee work of contractors and ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Document and log project progress, payments, and change orders under supervision.
