Job summary

Stanley Consultants, an award-winning global engineering firm, seeks an Engineer-In-Training for Transportation Design in Chicago, IL. You will gain hands-on experience on highway projects, including studies, design, drainage, and construction documents, under mentorship from senior engineers.

Responsibilities include plan development, geometry, earthwork modeling, and utility coordination across diverse client projects. EIT within 3 months, ABET CE degree, and 0–2 years’ experience required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Engineer Intern (EIT) registration required, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • 0-2 years of civil engineering experience, internship/co-op preferred.
  • Proven communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to evolving client, project, and industry needs.
  • Experience with Bentley OpenRoads Designer and Autodesk Civil3D.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work remotely based on business operations and needs.
  • Proven strong work ethic and a collaborative team player.

If this describes you, we are looking for a talented and ambitious Engineer-In-Training. If selected you will gain meaningful engineering experience on highway projects including roadway studies and design, drainage and utility systems, preliminary and final design, preparation of construction documents, cost estimates, project scheduling, and large, complex highway corridors.

  • Collaborate with and learn from experienced Professional Engineers and be mentored by industry leaders in transportation.
  • Support experienced engineers on transportation projects, including plan development for a comprehensive range of transportation design projects, including horizontal and vertical geometry, cross sections, earthwork modeling, 3D roadway modeling, quantities calculations, construction specifications, and utility coordination.
  • Enjoy a diverse client base enabling you to follow your passion in engineering.
  • Contribute to the communities we call home, instilling a sense of pride and sharing in the team’s accomplishments.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.

  • Proven communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
