Job summary

Motive Workforce is seeking an Engineer-in-Training in Kansas City area to help design commercial developments, schools, and communities. You will work with experienced Professional Engineers on real-world projects from concept through construction, gaining hands-on experience as you prepare for your PE licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required.
• Approximately 1+ year of AutoCAD drafting and design experience through school, internships, or work experience.
• Desire to obtain Engineer Intern (EI/EIT) certification and eventually PE licensure.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with willingness to learn in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, design, and construction documents for commercial and land development projects.
• Work directly with experienced Professional Engineers on real-world engineering projects.
• Design site layouts, grading, drainage, utilities, roads, and parking lots.
• Prepare engineering drawings and reports using AutoCAD.
• Perform engineering calculations and assist with project planning.
