Larson Engineering, Inc. seeks an Engineer III - Structural to perform assigned structural engineering tasks with growing independence.

You will apply established methods, analyze data, and contribute to project delivery while coordinating with clients and project teams. The role emphasizes developing technical expertise in structural practice, supporting permitting activities, and collaborating within a multi-disciplinary environment in an employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
• 3+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience applying standard engineering practices, techniques, and analysis.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating with project teams.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs defined portions of broader engineering assignments with increasing independence and accountability.
• Applies standard engineering practices and techniques, evaluates data, identifies discrepancies, and follows through on detailed processes.
• Performs standard computations, analysis, and technical evaluations to support project delivery.
• Supports project management activities, including estimating, proposal preparation, and contract documentation for typical projects.
• Maintains direct communication with clients on assigned tasks and project coordination.
• Assists with permitting, applications, and preparation of design documents, including CADD work.
• Submits work for QA/QC review and incorporates feedback to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Proactively communicates with the Project Manager regarding project status, risks, or client concerns.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

The Engineer III - Structural performs engineering assignments that will build professional knowledge and skills, applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria across related tasks. This person applies basic judgment in the application of established methods and in selecting among standard engineering approaches, seeking guidance on more complex issues.

They continue to develop technical expertise within a specific practice area while strengthening understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities, contributing to broader project efforts through consistent and reliable execution. The Engineer III – Structural reports to the Department Manager.

• Experience working in a multi-discipline or team-based project environment
