Job summary

Veregy, an award-winning decarbonization company, seeks a Controls Engineer in Lawrenceville, NJ. You will design, implement, and optimize building automation systems to control HVAC, lighting, and other commercial systems, with a focus on energy efficiency and reliability.

Responsibilities include design, programming, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting, plus collaboration across project teams. Travel is required; a BS in engineering and 10+ years in BAS are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Software).
• Valid driver's license.
• 10+ years in building automation design and implementation.
• Experience with Distech, Reliable Controls or Honeywell is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering and project teams with design, programming, and commissioning of building automation systems.
• Write and optimize building automation control sequences to reduce energy consumption and increase facility efficiency.
• Assist project teams with design/construction documents related to building automation systems and other Veregy technology products.
• Perform pre-functional and functional testing on new building automation systems.
• Troubleshoot low voltage circuitry in the field and verify requirements.
• Respond to and rectify project customer issues or occupant comfort complaints in a timely manner.

Summary of Position Functions

The Controls Engineer will quickly gain an understanding and working knowledge of Veregy's technology products and building automation systems. The engineer will utilize this understanding to design, implement, and optimize building automation systems that control various commercial systems including HVAC, lighting, access control, etc. The engineer will optimize control sequences to reduce energy consumption and increasing facility wide energy efficiency.

Essential Position Functions

• Assist engineering and project teams with design, programming, and commissioning of building automation systems.
• Write and optimize building automation control sequences to reduce energy consumption in increase facility efficiency.
• Assist project teams with the creation of design and construction documents as they relate to building automation systems and other Veregy technology products.
• Perform pre-functional and functional testing on new building automation systems.
• Troubleshoot low voltage circuitry in the field and verify requirements are met.
• Respond to and rectify project customer issues or occupant comfort complaints in a timely manner.

Educational/Certification Requirement

Required Experience

• 10+ years in building automation system design and implementation.
• Distech, Reliable Controls, Honeywell experience is a plus.
• Position requires travel.
