Qualifications

  • 7 years of professional engineering support experience on US Navy HM&E shipboard systems.
  • Master’s degree in engineering.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with a secret security clearance.

  • Manage and track Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Ship Change Documents (SCDs).

Job Description

Support NSWCPD, Department 20, Surface ship programs by providing configuration management, engineering change control, HM&E systems engineering, and design support. The role assists with ship modernization, acquisition, sustainment, and technical issue resolution across multiple engineering disciplines.

Support configuration management and control system changes throughout the lifecycle.

Manage and track Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Ship Change Documents (SCDs).

Assist with developing ECPs, resolving design discrepancies, and supporting design reviews.

Track HM&E equipment, ISEA advisories and Naval messages, and maintain status reports.

Provide ship hull, mechanical, electrical and control systems engineering support for ship acquisition, modernization, and in‑service efforts.

Contribute to engineering studies, risk analyses, and system performance evaluations.

Provide on‑site support to ship design teams, helping resolve technical issues and review test procedures and proposed ship changes.

Required Skills and Experiences
  • 7 years professional experience in engineering support for U.S. Navy HM&E shipboard systems. Experience in the development and deployment of relevant, innovative technologies that improve ship operational profile, cost and performance.
Degree Requirements
  • Master’s level degree in any engineering discipline.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • A secret security clearance
