Duties Summary

The Engineer III performs moderately difficult professional engineering work in the planning, design, construction, maintenance, operation and/or evaluation of engineering projects or facilities or assists higher-level engineers on more complex projects; and perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Legal Authorization To Work: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
  • Basic Education: A bachelor's degree from a school of engineering from an accredited four-year college or university. Relevant substitutions as described in the complete Minimum Qualification Requirements (see link below), will apply.
  • Engineering Experience: Two (2) years for the Level III of progressively responsible professional engineering experience which required the knowledge and application of the basic physical and mathematical sciences and the engineering sciences to the solution of theoretical or practical engineering problems.
  • Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
  • Special Requirements: Applicants must be able to lift and carry items of various weights with or without reasonable accommodation.

PUBLIC SERVICE LOAN FORGIVENESS (PSLF) PROGRAM
