Requirements
Must have:
- We require a bachelors degree in engineering or a closely related field.
- We look for at least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- We need strong problem-solving, leadership, and project management capabilities.
- Experience in the environmental and solid waste industry is essential.
- The role is on-site and includes work in a landfill setting.
Responsibilities:
- We engage, direct, and oversee consulting firms supporting work at solid waste facilities, including permits, construction plans, site monitoring, and regulatory filings.
- We maintain strong relationships with regulators and serve as the main technical and permitting contact with agencies and operating sites.
- We represent our company in permit meetings, hearings, site inspections, technical conferences, and community-facing forums.
- We manage landfill construction projects from plan development through final approval, including consultants, contractors, budgets, bid documents, contract administration, and materials coordination.
- We track and manage capital budgets for engineering and construction initiatives and report results to local and corporate leadership.
- We coordinate landfill capacity tracking, including airspace calculations, capacity forecasts, and fill sequencing plans.
- We evaluate sites regularly for compliance with construction and permit documents, as well as opportunities for expansion.
- We pursue needed or beneficial permits and permit amendments proactively.
- We collaborate across functions to deliver practical, cost-effective engineering solutions for operational, environmental, and compliance challenges.
- We provide technical guidance to management and teams such as finance, legal, and safety to support resolution paths.
- We take part in acquisition reviews and divestiture planning, including pro forma support and due diligence coordination.
- We help train, mentor, and supervise technical staff assigned to our team.
