Wencor Group seeks an engineer to oversee engineering and sourcing activities for aerospace aftermarket parts. You will reverse engineer parts, build 3D CAD models, and prepare dimensional reports for manufacturing drawings. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with familiarity with ASME Y14.5 standards.

Overview of the Position:

Oversee all engineering and sourcing requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design of commercial aircraft aftermarket parts by reverse engineering.
• If required incumbent may use standard measurement tools such as a micrometer or caliper to gather dimensional data.
• Create 3D CAD models and dimensional data reports from reverse engineering data.
• Create manufacturing drawings of aftermarket parts from dimensional reports, material analysis, and available technical data.
• Manage multiple reverse engineering projects simultaneously.
• Create reports and data packages to be submitted to the FAA for certification.
• Assist in drawing and report checking.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Capacity to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical documents.

• Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite.

• Familiar with aerospace manufacturing methods and processes related to the creation of precision structural aircraft parts, sheet metal parts, machine parts such as gears, bearings, seals, etc.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling, with Solid Works experience preferred.
• Experience with FAA certification process preferred.
