Job summary

Elevance Health seeks an Engineer II to design, develop, and optimize software solutions across multiple platforms. Located in Ashburn, VA, with options for other U.S. locations, this hybrid role requires in-office presence three days per week and occasional remote work to support productivity and collaboration.

The ideal candidate has a BA/BS in IT or CS and 1+ year on a platform, plus hands-on experience in AI, data, and streaming, with cloud expertise in AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.

This role requires associates to be in-office 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. How you will make an impact

• Writes correct and clean code with limited guidance while ensuring following best practices.

• Codes and maintains semi-complex components of information systems.
• Develops and performs system testing and fixes defects identified during testing and re-executes unit tests to validate results.
• Understand testing best practices.
• Participates in integrating activities with other IT departments for successful implementation and support of project efforts.
• Develops a General understanding of how the work fits in to the larger project and identifies problems or issues in requirements.
• Provides on call support and monitors the system for semi-complex issues as needed.
• Facilitates small group design sessions or code reviews and participates in vendor evaluation.

Minimum Requirements

Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 1 year experience on one platform; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences

• Multi database, multi language or multi business application strongly preferred.
• Hands on experience in AI, Data, Streaming.
• Cloud Platforms (AWS, Google, Azure and others).
• Applied AI experience with a very good grasp on end-2-end deployment to AI solutions at enterprise.

Salary and Benefits

For candidates working in person or virtually in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $79,420 to $144,210
