Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. in Boulder, CO is seeking an Engineer II-Systems to lead and contribute to R&D programs in timing and communications.

You will work with hardware, software, FPGA, and mechanical teams to deliver robust solutions that meet customer requirements and support system integration at client sites worldwide. Responsibilities

  • Engineer embedded systems and algorithms for time, position, and RF communications.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, FPGA, and mechanical engineers.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing and Quality to introduce new products.
  • Assist System Integration with installation at customer sites worldwide.
  • Travel up to 15%.

Our Government Systems group in Boulder, CO is seeking an Engineer II-Systems to manage and contribute to R&D programs in the field of timing and communications systems. Essential Responsibilities
  • Engineer embedded systems and algorithms for time, position, and RF communications using the systems design methodology of requirements definition, design, implementation, and validation of the system
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, FPGA, and mechanical engineers to develop solutions that meet or exceed customers’ requirements
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing and Quality Engineers to introduce and release new products
  • Work with System Integration to help with installation of equipment at customer sites worldwide
  • Up to 15% Travel
Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university 2.5 - 5 years’ experience in the Systems Engineering process, including requirements definition, design, implementation, verification, and test Established track record of technical leadership and detailed individual contribution Experience with simulation, data processing, and analysis using Python and/or MATLAB Familiarity with digital test equipment (i.e. Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Multi-Meter) Great written and verbal communication skills Great interpersonal skills US Citizenship Required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Established expertise in digital signal processing, control system design, linear system analysis, or statistical classification algorithms
  • Ability to efficiently operate in a Linux/Unix environment
  • Knowledge of microprocessors, memory devices, and logic devices
  • Familiarity with precise timing applications and components including oscillators, time measurement circuits, and GPS receivers
  • Experience successfully executing government programs with formal documentation and review deliverables, including System Requirements Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, and Test Readiness Review
  • Current TS/SCI and/or DoD Top Secret clearances are strongly preferred

Pay Range

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $70,304 - $143,000.* *Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
