Engineer II - End User Computing Desktop

Base pay range

Job Summary

The End User Computing (EUC) Desktop Engineer II designs, tests, documents and modifies computer operating systems, applies system analysis techniques and procedures, and consults with the business to determine hardware, software and system specifications to run required applications. In addition, the EUC Desktop Engineer will provide guidance, mentoring, training and participate in an on‑call rotation that includes facilitating off‑hour work functions in support of incidents, upgrades, patches and project task fulfillment.

Responsibilities
  • Deploy, configure, maintain and troubleshoot EMR client and auxiliary EMR applications; design, configure and maintain computer, client and end‑user operating system images; manage operating system patch management, Active Directory objects and permissions, file shares, quotas, and system management tools; script installation of client and desktop applications; manage enterprise anti‑virus tools, print servers, WINS and DNS services; maintain image deployment application and tools; license management systems; IP address assignments; research and develop hardware, applications and operating systems; respond to level I and II incident support requests; manage tickets for incidents and requests; perform proactive client problem detection; validate client application functionality; develop training materials; document and submit new content to the knowledge base; maintain team website; create process maps; develop new framework and processes around problem management; coach and train less experienced technicians; perform quality assurance on incidents and requests to identify coaching opportunities; provide leadership on projects assigned to Client Technology Engineering; prioritize and respond promptly based on severity levels to customer needs; recognize opportunities for service recovery and act to resolve issues.
  • Complete IT Governance and IT project job assignments to ensure achievement of established project milestones.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline – Preferre
  • Bachelor's Degree or 4 years' work‑related experience in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline – Require
Experience
  • 3 years' experience in Microsoft Windows (desktop), Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, application packaging and deployment, or Epic client systems administrator – Require
Licenses and Certification
  • Epic ECSA, Microsoft Operating System or Microsoft SCCM – Preferre
