Job summary

Masimo, a Danaher operating company, is seeking an Engineer II, Cloud & Web Systems Software, to design, develop, test, and support cloud-based and web-enabled software that powers Masimo’s connected platforms and medical devices. This on-site role reports to the Sr Manager, Cloud & Web Systems Software in Irvine, CA.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in a technical field (CS/CE/SE) or equivalent.
• 3+ years of software engineering in cloud/web/back-end or distributed systems.
• Experience with modern languages/frameworks (Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-based and web-enabled software applications and APIs.
• Contribute to scalable backend architectures and modern web application development for connected medical technologies.
• Collaborate with project managers, systems engineers, and product teams to deliver reliable software across web, mobile, and enterprise environments.
• Participate in frontend and backend development activities including UI, database integration, and service-layer work.

The Engineer II, Cloud & Web Systems Software is responsible for the design, development, testing, and support of cloud-based and web-enabled software solutions that support Masimo’s connected platforms, digital health technologies, internal systems, and product ecosystems. This role contributes to the development of scalable, secure, and reliable applications and services that enable data connectivity, visualization, analytics, and user interaction across web, mobile, enterprise, and medical device environments. The position reports to the Sr Manager, Cloud & Web Systems Software and is part of the Software Engineering department located in Irvine, CA and will be an on‑site role.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-native and web-based software applications, services, APIs, and system integrations.
• Contribute to scalable backend architectures and modern web application development supporting connected medical technologies and enterprise platforms.
• Develop and maintain software using modern programming languages, frameworks, and cloud technologies such as Java, Python, AWS, Azure, Spring Boot, Oracle Cloud, or equivalent technologies.
• Participate in frontend and backend development activities, including UI implementation, database integration, and service-layer development.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, systems engineers, product development teams, and external partners to support project execution and product delivery.

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include:

• B.S. Degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of experience software engineering experience in cloud, web, backend, full-stack, or distributed systems development.
• Experience developing software applications using modern programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, or similar technologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Understanding of web services, APIs, microservices, and distributed system architectures.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Experience developing software within regulated industries such as medical devices, healthcare, life sciences, or other highly regulated environments.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, secure software development, authentication/authorization protocols, and data privacy principles.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, and observability tools.

The annual salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for up to a 10% annual bonus. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
