Job summary

Masimo in Irvine, CA is seeking a Sr Engineer III, Electronics to lead hardware design for medical device applications on‑site. You will develop analog and digital circuits, drive architecture, schematic implementation, verification, and sustainment, while collaborating with software, mechanical, and quality teams.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience in electronics design, and experience with PCB layout and high‑speed design.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience in electronics design.
• Strong analog and digital circuit design expertise.
• Experience with schematic capture tools such as PADS, OrCAD, Altium.
• PCB layout, board bring‑up, and high‑speed design experience.
• Familiarity with full product development lifecycle.
• Nice‑to‑have: medical devices, IEC 60601‑1, EMI/EMC, signal integrity, power integrity, PSPICE/Multisim, embedded C.

The Sr Engineer III, Electronics

The Sr Engineer III, Electronics is responsible for leading the design, development, verification, and support of complex electronic hardware used in Masimo’s medical device products. This role provides advanced technical contribution across the hardware development lifecycle, including architecture definition, circuit design, board‑level implementation, verification, troubleshooting, and sustaining engineering. Working closely with cross-functional partners, this engineer independently drives complex technical solutions, supports critical product decisions, and contributes to product performance, reliability, and compliance objectives. This position reports to the Sr Director, Instrument Hardware and is part of the Hardware Engineering department located in Irvine, CA and will be an on‑site role.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To:

Lead design and development of analog and digital electronic circuits for medical device applications.

Own hardware design activities across the engineering lifecycle, including architecture, schematic development, implementation, verification, and sustaining support.

Collaborate closely with software, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams to integrate hardware solutions into finished products.

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include:

B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline with 10+ years of progressive experience in electronics design, development, and troubleshooting.

Strong expertise in analog and digital circuit design.

Strong experience with schematic capture tools such as PADS, OrCAD, Altium, or equivalent.

Experience supporting PCB layout, board bring‑up, and high‑speed design methodologies.

Familiarity with full product development lifecycle from concept through production.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Experience designing within medical devices or other regulated product development environments.

Familiarity with IEC 60601‑1 and related compliance standards.

Experience supporting EMC/EMI design, testing, and troubleshooting.

Exposure to signal integrity and power integrity design considerations.

Experience with electrical simulation tools such as PSPICE, Multisim, or equivalent.

Programming experience in C for embedded systems support.

The annual salary range for this role is $130,000 - $170,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for up to a 10% annual bonus. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
