Job summary

Soltesz in Waldorf, MD is seeking a Site/Civil Engineer II to contribute to land development projects throughout Southern Maryland and the Washington metro area. This early-career role offers exposure to planning, design, permitting and construction support across residential, commercial and public-sector projects.

You will prepare site and civil design documents, coordinate with teams and clients, and mentor junior staff as you grow, using MicroStation or AutoCAD and related software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 2–5 years of progressive experience in site/civil engineering and land development design.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• Maryland PE license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare site and civil engineering design documents and construction plans.
• Develop site grading, roadway, storm drainage, and water/sewer infrastructure designs.
• Create project graphics, exhibits, and technical drawings.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subconsultants, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports, memorandums, and project documentation.
• Support multiple concurrent projects while meeting schedules and budgets.
• Mentor and assist junior design staff as experience grows.
• Contribute to successful project delivery from concept through construction.

What You'll Do

As a Site / Civil Engineer II, you will contribute to the planning, design, permitting, and construction support of residential, commercial, mixed-use, and public-sector development projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare site and civil engineering design documents and construction plans
• Develop site grading, roadway, storm drainage, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and water and sewer infrastructure designs
• Create project graphics, exhibits, and technical drawings
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subconsultants, clients, and regulatory agencies
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports, memorandums, and project documentation
• Support multiple concurrent projects while meeting schedules and project budgets
• Participate in design reviews and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams
• Mentor and assist junior design staff as experience grows
• Contribute to successful project delivery from concept through construction

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
• 2-5 years of progressive experience in site/civil engineering and land development design
• Experience with land development projects in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area
• Proficiency with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments and deadlines
• Experience in Charles County, Prince George's County, St. Mary's County, or Montgomery County is preferred
• Maryland PE license is preferred but not required

Preferred Technical Experience
