Marriott Greenville is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team. Compensation is based on experience. Responsibilities include inspecting hotel systems, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring guest satisfaction in a safe environment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect operating systems and hotel components to ensure proper, efficient, and safe operation.
  • Respond promptly to guest-related issues and inform front desk when actions are completed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs across mechanical/electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing and building systems.
  • Maintain grounds, storage, and work areas in a clean, safe condition.
  • Follow PM schedules to meet brand room standards.
  • Perform painting, carpentry, plumbing and related tasks as needed.
  • Report corrective actions to Chief Engineer.

Major Responsibilities
  • Ensures that each Guest receives outstanding Guest Service by providing a Guest friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every Guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of Guest Service.
  • Empowered to guarantee total guest satisfaction, display hospitality and professionalism to our guests at all times, take pride in representing AURO Hotels professionally with our guests and assuring that all transactions with guests are handled in a legal and ethical manner.
  • Understands and apply all property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for associates and guests at all times. In the event of an accident or emergency, gets medical attention if necessary and contacts the GM or Human Resources immediately.
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all company associates to foster and promote a positive working environment.
Essential Job Functions
  • Inspects all operating systems and components of the hotel to ensure they are operating properly, efficiently and safely, as directed by Chief Engineer.
  • Promptly responds to front desk reports of guest problems or concerns, informs the front desk when action is complete so the front desk can perform "Courtesy Call Back" telephone calls.
  • Performs preventative maintenance, repairs, or makes recommendations for repairs, as assigned: all mechanical/electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing systems, all building components and furniture, fixtures and equipment.
  • Maintains the grounds daily, including landscaping and parking areas in a clean, neat, safe and attractive manner.
  • Performs the "PM" schedule on a timely basis, ensuring that all elements of the guest room meet the standards of the brand.
  • Performs painting, carpentry, plumbing, emergency carpet cleaning and other jobs as necessary.
  • Maintains all storage areas, shops and mechanical areas in a clean, safe and secure manner, reporting to the Chief Engineer any corrective actions that need to be taken.
  • Keeps Chief Engineer promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance so that prompt corrective action can be taken.
  • Perform job duties with a minimum of disruption of the guest.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Complies with Company Standards of Service as outlined for AURO Hotels.
  • Projects a favorable image of AURO Hotels to the public at all times.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
  • Treats guests, vendors, customers and co-workers with professionalism and respect at all times.
  • Completes Departmental, AURO Hotels and Brand standards training as assigned.
  • Maintains a clean and neat appearance at all times.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Preferred Experience

EPA, CPO, HVAC and refrigeration experience preferred

Experience and Education

High school diploma or general education degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required; 2 years minimum work experience in maintenance or trades. Must be able to speak, read, and understand English.
