Job summary

Performance Hospitality Management (PHM) is seeking an Engineer II to oversee preventive maintenance of hotel mechanical/electrical systems, monitor life safety systems, and manage department operations per standards and regulations.

The role includes troubleshooting, pool maintenance, guest interactions, and coordinating with hotel departments. A flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation, is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade/vocational certificate preferred.
• Experience in hotel/resort or commercial building maintenance is desirable.
• Familiarity with CMMS/work-order tools and reading schematics/blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in mechanical or electrical systems (HVAC, plumbing, laundry equipment, etc.).
• Service hotel pools and maintain water quality and equipment.
• Respond courteously to guest questions or requests to ensure satisfaction.
• Maintain exterior aesthetics and ground upkeep, including pool, landscaping, and painting.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks and document logs.
• Coordinate with department heads to address maintenance needs and respond promptly.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes.

Job description

The Engineer II is responsible for implementation of all property and equipment preventive maintenance and repairs, monitor life safety systems and utilities and administer the department in compliance with all corporate/franchise standards and local, state and national codes and regulations to protect assets, guests and associates. Interior and exterior paint.Systems: Familiar with CMMS/work-order tools (e.g., HotSOS/Quore) and able to read basic schematics/blueprints and equipment manuals.Safety: Knowledge of OSHA practices, PPE, LOTO, ladder/electrical safety, and SDS/chemical handling.Certifications (preferred): EPA 608 Type I/II, CPO, OSHA 10/30; relevant trade licenses a plus.Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer-service mindset; organized and reliable with solid follow-through.Availability: Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation as needed.Physical Requirements: Ability to stand/walk for extended periods; climb ladders; work in hot/cold environments and confined spaces; lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
