  • Create and refine SolidWorks 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed drawings to support manufacturing and quality requirements.
  • Perform engineering calculations and simulations to validate designs under demanding operating conditions.
  • Develop and oversee testing protocols, including prototype evaluation, validation, and documentation of results.
  • Prepare and submit engineering packets for governing bodies such as the Department of Defense, ABS, and DNV.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Operations to provide technical expertise, resolve engineering challenges, and support product launches.
  • Provide guidance to design staff to ensure adherence to specifications, safety standards, and cost targets.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues in production and field environments, including root-cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Contribute to lean initiatives and process improvements to enhance engineering efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required); advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience with at least 3–5 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD with extensive experience in large assemblies and complex design work.
  • In-depth knowledge of hydraulic systems, machining processes, and metal fabrication methods.
  • Strong background in material science, with emphasis on carbon steels and high-strength alloys.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform engineering calculations, FEA, and tolerance analysis to support robust product designs.
  • Experience preparing technical documentation for regulatory and certifying bodies.
  • Certified Fluid Power Hydraulic Specialist (or ability to achieve within one year).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a structured, analytical approach to complex engineering challenges.
