Job summary

Amentum seeks a skilled mechanical engineer to design, fabricate, modify, and evaluate complex mechanical and electro-mechanical components and subsystems for mission-critical applications. You will prepare specifications, analyses, and recommendations for project approval, and lead technical studies across design teams.

Responsibilities include coordinating drafters and technicians, conducting independent investigations, and ensuring safety and quality in all phases.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years of relevant experience with an Associate's degree.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience with Mechanical Engineering Bachelor's degree, or a mix of experience and education.

Job description

Responsibilities:

Designs, fabricates, modifies and evaluates complicated and difficult mechanical and electro-mechanical components, sub-systems and systems. Prepares design specifications, analyses and recommendations for presentation and approval. Has technical responsibility for planning, organizing and conducting technical projects or phases of projects involving design and development of new or improved product and/or processes. Investigates solutions to product and/or process problems. Consolidates results of mechanical design elements for assigned projects. Coordinates the efforts of drafters/designers, engineering technicians, and machine shop personnel as required by assigned projects. Conducts independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material, component or process specifications and requirements.

Additional Information:

Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. This position may require a valid Driver’s License. This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location. This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.

Special Requirements:

Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed. Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Minimum Requirements:

Compensation Details:

$85,000 - 100,000 The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
