Job summary

Peregrine Yountville Management LLC is seeking an Engineer II to maintain the property in top condition, repair and inspect utility services, and manage inventory and tools. The role covers a broad range of trades including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general repairs, with emphasis on safety and adherence to codes.

Responsibilities include routine inspections, reading equipment readings, testing boilers, and maintaining preventive maintenance records.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar capacity is a must.
  • At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Make repairs of broken items, fixtures, and hardware, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, masonry, flooring, kitchen equipment, and light concrete work
  • Inspect equipment and facilities on a regular basis and trouble shoot to determine necessary repairs
  • Take required readings on equipment
  • Test boilers and record readings
  • Replace and program televisions as needed
  • Replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs and fixtures
  • Perform plumbing repairs (i.e. clogged drains, copper pipe, change washers, change handles, drain fittings, etc)
  • Understand and read blueprints and wiring diagrams
  • Trace and repair water lines
  • Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment
  • Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records
  • Perform and maintain work to local, state, and federal codes
  • Test, clean and repair swimming pools, and spas
  • Paint designated areas
  • Repair and finish sheet rock
  • Repair wall coverings
  • Repair hotel electronic lock system
  • Abide by all hotel policies and safety rules
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Job description

The Engineer II is responsible for ensuring that the property is maintained in the best possible condition at all times. The role is responsible for repairing, inspecting and general maintenance of utility services, inventory supplies and tools.

Essential Functions
  • Must adhere to the company’s Service culture – 4 Keys to creating guests for life.
  • Must participate in all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform/business attire and nametag.
  • Make repairs of broken items, fixtures, and hardware, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, masonry, flooring, kitchen equipment, and light concrete work
  • Inspect equipment and facilities on a regular basis and trouble shoot to determine necessary repairs.

Working Conditions and Schedule
  • The scope of the position may sometimes require a work week over 40 hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Must be able to stand and work for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop or reach as needed.
  • Must be able to work in an outdoor environment with varying temperatures, including temperatures above 100°F.
  • Must be able to use hand tools.
  • Work requires exposure to chemicals, dirt, odors, noise, slippery/unstable/unlevel working surfaces.
