Job summary

LG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. (LGESMI) is seeking a Process Engineer I to optimize productivity and sustainability in battery production.

You will contribute by setting recipes, aligning specs, managing process capability, and driving high-quality defect improvement through a strong technical understanding of processes and equipment. The role requires collaboration with engineers and operators to maintain stable mass production quality, address quality issues, and support PD improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; relevant experience acceptable.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure; weekend/night shifts may be required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze productivity, yield and overall equipment efficiency (OEE) for assigned process.
• Troubleshoot machines with engineers/operators to maximize yield/OEE.
• Identify quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Create SOPs and train operators for correct floor implementation.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and fire regulations.
• Optimize specifications and establish process conditions.
• Develop and review PFDs, PFMEAs, and CPs.
• Disseminate production/development models and verify 4M changes.
• Conduct internal and customer audits; handle non-conformances.
• Address internal/external quality issues for customers.
• Establish and revise PFDs and PF manuals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary:

The Process Engineer I will provide support in optimizing productivity and sustainability of battery production through high level of technical knowledge while ensuring stable mass production quality & PD improvement through recipe setting, spec aligning, process capability management, and high-quality defect improvement based on a technical understanding of the process and equipment

Responsibilities:

• Analyze productivity, yield and overall equipment efficiency (OEE) of assigned process and department
• Work with engineers and operators to troubleshoot machines to ensure highest yield and OEE
• Analyze Quality issues to provide corrective actions
• Improve production processes by creating various SOPs and train operators to ensure understanding and correct implementation to floor
• Compliance with health/safety/environmental/ fire regulations
• Spec. optimization and process conditions establishment
• PFD: process flow diagram, PFMEA: process failure mode and effects analysis, CP: control plan
• Production/development model dissemination and 4M change verification
• Conduct internal and customer audits
• Non-conformance report handling and improvement
• Response to internal/external quality issues for the customer
• Establishment and revision of PFD, PF Manual
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent, relevant experience
• Must be available to work weekend/night shifts based on team’s needs
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure

Experience:

• 1-3+ years’ of experience in production technology related job preferred but not required
• Experience in working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Previous experience working in Asian HQ global company
