Stanley Black & Decker is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I for its Outdoor team in Valley City, Ohio. You will develop new platforms and work with marketing and consumer groups to translate requirements into robust designs.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, strong math/analytical skills, CAD proficiency (CATIA preferred), and experience with plastics, metal fabrication, and rapid prototyping. A comprehensive benefits package is offered.

What You’ll Do

As a Mechanical Engineer I, you’ll be part of our Outdoor team located in Valley City, Ohio.

• Develop new Outdoor platforms to ensure they meet design, marketing, regulatory, quality, and cost requirements as defined by engineering and the organization.
• Work closely with product marketing and consumer groups to understand customer requirements and devise workable design solutions accordingly.
• Convert product /component requirements into GD&T specifications, applying statistical methods to analyze tolerance stack-ups.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute engineering builds and product testing.
• Evaluate existing designs for product improvements. Improvements may include user experience improvements, cost savings, ease of assembly, warranty reduction, and more.

• Bachelor of Science - Mechanical Engineering

The Salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $96,600.00 This is the lowest to highest annual full-time salary range we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. The salary offered within the range may vary depending on multiple factors including job level, geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and in compliance with local wage requirements.
