Hilton Tampa Airport Westshore is seeking a full‑time Hotel Engineer to operate and maintain central HVAC and related systems, ensuring safe and efficient hotel operations. You will repair kitchen, laundry, ice machines, refrigeration, boilers and plumbing, while proactively performing preventive maintenance.

Ideal candidates have hotel engineering experience, vocational certification, and strong communication skills.

Job Description

What you will be doing

  • Efficiently and safely operate central HVAC equipment and mechanical equipment using sound engineering practices and specified corporate operating procedures.
  • Accurately and efficiently repair and maintain food production and related kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, ice machines and refrigeration systems, boilers and plumbing systems and all electrical and natural gas distribution systems.
  • Trouble‑shoot electrical and pneumatic problems and repair them as quickly and economically as possible.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on an on‑going basis.
Requirements

What we are looking for

  • Previous hotel engineering experience required, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen and general building construction
  • Vocational training, associate's degree, certification and/or apprenticeship in one or more area; state certification or licensure where required
  • Understand and efficiently maintain and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and boiler systems.
  • Read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings and technical parts breakdown.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High work ethic and self‑initiative
  • Physical Requirements (In‑Office Role)
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. (6-8 hours a day)
  • Occasional standing and walking throughout the workday.
  • Frequent fine motor skills, use of hands and fingers for keyboarding/typing, utilizing a mouse or trackpad, writing, and operating office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach, or carry items.
  • Ability to lift and/or move 10–25 pounds as needed (e.g., files, office supplies).
  • Visual ability to read from a computer screen and printed materials including close visual focus for extended periods and color differentiation (for certain roles).
  • Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings, use phone and/or headset
