American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) is seeking an Engineer I to assist with ship structure, stability and load line reviews. You will perform engineering design review and analysis on major and smaller projects, applying conventional engineering knowledge with increasing independence on broader assignments. The role supports U.S.
government classification and certification services for surface vessels and requires U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.
ABS Government Engineering Services (GES) is searching for an Engineer I to assist with ship structure, stability and load line reviews. This person will perform engineering design review and analysis assignments normally involving a major project or several smaller less complex projects. These projects by nature of their complexity and difficulty require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in a particular field of engineering or science. Through broader and more technically challenging work assignments, the ideal candidate will develop a thorough understanding of policies, methods and procedures.
Individual will support U.S. government agencies (US Navy, US Military Sealift Command (MSC), US Coast Guard, MARAD, NOAA, etc.) by performing various classification and certification services for surface vessel. Individual will need to be U.S. Citizen. Must have or be able to attain a security clearance.
Professional or chartered engineer license.
The incumbent reports to a senior level engineer or technical manager. This position does not have any direct reports.
