Power Solutions International (PSI) seeks a Design Engineer I to coordinate the development of internal combustion engines for the industrial market and to support the existing engine lineup. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls teams to deliver robust components and systems.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering, experience with 3D modelling tools (SolidWorks/Creo/AutoCAD), and strong GD&T knowledge, with safety and quality as top priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience delivering system-level design projects.
• Knowledge of GD&T and 3D modelling.

Responsabilités

• Assist with design and release of engine components.
• Conduct simulations/analyses (structural, fluid, vibration, materials).
• Coordinate validation testing with engineering teams and vendors.
• Support engineering and Customer Service with field issues.

We are positioned to meet the high production volumes of our customers with added capacity for growth.Summary:The Design Engineer I is responsible for coordination and development of new internal combustion engines for use in the industrial market, as well as continuing support of the existing industrial engine lineup. This position includes coordination between engineering teams working in mechanical, electrical, electro- mechanical, fuel systems, and controls and requires a working knowledge of all the disciplines.Essential Responsibilities:Assist with the design and release engine components.Conduct necessary simulations or analysis of components or systems including structural, fluid dynamic, vibration, and material.Develop and coordinate component or system validation testing as needed.Provide input to and support the engineering team on processes and standards to improve and enhance organizational capability.Coordinate, collaborate, and communicate design solutions with vendors, manufacturing operations, Customer Service, and other engineering teams.Assist with the development and coordination component or system validation testing as needed.Assist with projects to support Customer Service teams with customer field issues.Adhere to all safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment and navigating the plant with alert behavior.All other duties as assigned by management, including travel to other PSI facilities.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or another applicable engineering field with strong academic performance.Demonstrated success in delivering system level application design projects, utilizing Solid Works (may substitute Creo, AutoCad, etc.) for 3D modelling.Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimension & Tolerance).Experience and/or knowledge of one or more of the following components mounts & brackets, sheet metal, engine wire harness, clutch, isolators, hoses, cooling systems, and/or rubber belts.Knowledge and/or experience with engine applications for the industrial, power generation, and/or on-highway industries.Power Solutions International is an EOE disability/vet company offering a drug-free workplace.
