Job summary

The City of Midland's Engineering Services Department seeks an Engineer I to support planning, design, and implementation of capital improvement projects citywide. Under the direction of the City Engineer, you will contribute to road, water, wastewater, and parks infrastructure throughout Midland.

Requirements include a Civil Engineering degree, a Texas PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months, at least five years of municipal civil engineering experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• PE license in Texas or ability to obtain within six months.
• Minimum of five years of civil engineering experience with design/management of capital improvement projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and other relevant engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Design and/or manage the design of projects within the Engineering Services Department, ensuring adherence to standards, project schedules, and budgets.
• Supervise the preparation of construction drawings, cost estimates, specifications, bid documents, and construction schedules.
• Coordinate with consultants, regulatory agencies, and contractors through planning, design, and construction phases to ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and permitting requirements.
• Stay abreast of emerging industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements to continuously improve engineering process and methodologies.
