Job summary

RTX is seeking candidates for the Aftermarket Development Program (ADP), a two-year, entry-level rotational program within Aftermarket Operations. You will rotate through engineering, quality, and operations across U.S.

sites, gaining hands-on experience in engine maintenance, repair development, and process improvement. Successful participants transition into full-time roles within Pratt & Whitney’s AMO units, with relocation across multiple sites and exposure to cross-functional teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Industrial, Materials, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Engineering or STEM.
  • Degree must be completed by start date: June 2027.
  • Willing to relocate to a different U.S. location every eight months for three assignments.
  • Experience presenting technical data to stakeholders or leading a team.
  • Prior RTX internship or co-op is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete three eight-month rotations in engineering, quality, and operations across U.S. sites.
  • Interpret engine manuals and develop repair processes, create shop instructions, and resolve technical issues.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions and lead root-cause investigations.

The Aftermarket Development Program (ADP) is a two-year, entry-level rotational program within Pratt & Whitney’s Aftermarket Operations (AMO) organization. Program participants complete three 8-month rotations, each focused on a different discipline: engineering, quality, and operations.

Each rotation takes place at a different domestic overhaul and component repair facility within the U.S., meaning participants will relocate to three distinct locations over the course of the program. These varied site assignments are designed to provide broad, cross-functional exposure and a deep understanding of how aftermarket teams collaborate to support engine sustainment.

Upon successful completion of the program, participants are prepared to transition into full-time roles within one of Pratt & Whitney’s aftermarket business units.

What You Will Do

Complete three eight-month rotations in engineering, quality, and operations across U.S. sites, adapting quickly to new maintenance and overhaul facilities and teams.

Engineering: Interpret engine manuals and technical data, develop and implement new repair processes, create detailed work instructions for shop floor employees, and resolve both routine and complex technical issues in support of engine component repair and overhaul.

Quality: Drive corrective and preventive actions, lead root‑cause investigations for nonconformance, perform product and process quality reviews, and collaborate with regulatory agencies, customers, vendors, and engineering teams to resolve technical and quality issues.

Operations: Oversee daily manufacturing execution by leading a workforce, planning labor and schedules, driving key performance metrics, and implement training, communication, and process improvements to increase productivity and meet rising production demands.

Support cross-functional areas including manufacturing, customer service, strategic planning, supply chain, and global supplier development.

Continuously seek new challenges by leading high impact projects, identifying improvement opportunities across the business, and expanding your technical and operational capabilities.

What You Will Learn

Deep understanding of the core elements of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations within the fast-paced aftermarket environment, including engine repair development, shop visit execution, and quality assurance to support global fleets.

Qualifications

You Must Have Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Industrial, Materials, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major. Degree must be obtained by start date: June 2027.

Willing and able to relocate to a different U.S. location every eight (8) months for three distinct assignments.

Demonstrated experience presenting/communicating technical or operational data to external stakeholders, peer groups, leadership, or customers OR holding a designated leadership/coordinator role within a student organization, design team, or project group.

We Prefer

Prior RTX internship, work, or co-op experience.

Experience with analytic and engineering tools such as VBA, Power BI, Tableau, MATLAB, CAD, etc.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities, whether through academic projects, student organizations, or community involvement.

Salary

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
