Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Engineer I to maintain and repair a hotel’s physical structure, guest rooms, public areas, and mechanical equipment to ensure safety, comfort, and efficient operations.

The role responds to routine and emergency work orders, performs preventive maintenance, and troubleshoots plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems, coordinating with hotel departments to uphold service standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience in building maintenance, preferably in a hotel or similar facility.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance and respond to emergencies.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair issues in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Complete routine repairs including plumbing, lighting, electrical fixtures, and room-related concerns.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance throughout the hotel.
  • Inspect and service HVAC units, ice machines, laundry equipment, kitchen equipment, plumbing fixtures.
  • Perform general plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, drains, fixtures, and minor piping repairs.
  • Perform minor electrical repairs involving lighting, switches, outlets, fixtures, and other basic electrical components
  • Troubleshoot basic HVAC and mechanical equipment issues.
  • Perform basic carpentry, painting, drywall patching, caulking, furniture touch-ups, and other cosmetic repairs.
  • Assist with monitoring and inspecting fire alarms, emergency generators, and other life-safety equipment
  • Respond appropriately to emergency maintenance situations, including water leaks, power interruptions, equipment failures, and other urgent property needs.
  • Maintain appropriate preventive maintenance and repair records.

Engineer I

We are seeking an Engineer I who is responsible for maintaining and repairing the hotel's physical structure, guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and mechanical equipment to ensure guest safety, comfort, and operational efficiency.

This position responds to routine and emergency work orders, performs scheduled preventive maintenance, and troubleshoots plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and general building systems. The Engineer I works closely with hotel departments to ensure maintenance concerns are addressed promptly while maintaining the hotel's safety, appearance, and service standards.

Key Responsibilities:
