City of Foley is seeking a professional civil engineer to support municipal infrastructure, public works, and private development projects. The role involves reviewing plans, performing analyses, preparing reports, and coordinating multiple projects for timely delivery under limited supervision. Required are a B.S.
in Civil Engineering and at least three years of civil engineering experience. An E.I. with FE in Alabama or licensure reciprocity for P.E.
Under limited supervision, this position provides professional civil engineering support for municipal infrastructure, public works, and private development projects. Reviews engineering plans, specifications, calculations, reports, and technical documents; performs engineering analyses and calculations; inspects construction projects; prepares technical reports, correspondence, cost estimates, and recommendations; coordinates multiple projects; and communicates technical information to engineers, contractors, developers, elected officials, regulatory agencies, and the public. The position works independently with minimal supervision and applies sound engineering judgment to complex engineering problems. Reports to the City Engineer.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering and three (3) years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Engineering Intern (E.I.) with successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam in the State of Alabama, or the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity within a timeframe established by the City.
Professional Engineering (P.E.) licensure in Civil Engineering in the State of Alabama preferred, or the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity with the timeframe established by the City.
