Job summary

Solé Miami is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our Sunny Isles property. You will own the preventative maintenance program for facility systems, including HVAC, electrical and plumbing, to keep the hotel running smoothly.

The role requires 2–5 years in maintenance, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to read blueprints. We offer competitive benefits and career growth within our boutique beachfront hotel.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in commercial or institutional maintenance preferred.
• HVAC, plumbing or electrical skills required.
• Light carpentry with knowledge of paint and wallpaper.
• Pool operation certification preferred.
• Strong communication with guests and team members.
• Preventive maintenance background preferred.
• Read, write and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair hotel facilities and equipment including HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, electrical gear and related equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Repair pumps, motors, pumps and water lines as needed.
• Test and service swimming pools and spas; maintain pool records.
• Repair and program hotel electronic lock systems and lighting fixtures.
• Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.
• Ensure work complies with local, state and Federal codes.

A day in the life...

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be a part of the team responsible for ensuring facility systems and structures are maintained and in working order. We are looking for a new team member who will take ownership of the preventative maintenance program/HVAC to protect our beautiful hotel.

To be successful in the Maintenance Engineer position, you...

• make repairs to hotel air conditioning system: change filters, clean coils, replace motors.
• perform preventive maintenance on all equipment (i.e. boilers, chillers, HVAC-Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, electrical, etc.).
• take required readings on equipment.
• test cooling tower and record readings.
• replace and program televisions as needed.
• replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs and fixtures.
• perform furniture repair.
• replace and repair pumps.
• perform plumbing repairs (i.e. clogged drains, copper pipe, change washers, change handles, drain fittings, etc).
• understand and be able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• trace and repair all types of water lines.
• troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
• maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.
• perform and maintain work to local, state and Federal codes.
• test, clean and repair swimming pools and spas.
• paint designated areas.
• repair and finish sheet rock.
• repair all types of wall coverings.
• repair and program hotel electronic lock system.

Requirements
