Job Overview

As an Engineer, Fleet Support, you will play a key role in the Aircraft Fleet Support team responsible for developing hardware and software (HDW/SW) diagnostic and monitoring tools for the in-cabin system, troubleshooting remote and on-site issues of the airborne systems. You will collaborate with Operations, Development, and System Engineering to understand product functionality and drive defect resolution. Additionally, you will evaluate system designs with Aircraft Engineering and work with the reliability and Quality teams to identify hardware defects.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage 24x7 support for systemic aircraft issues related to the airborne system.
  2. Define, review, and update installation and maintenance documentation.
  3. Identify and develop process and tool improvements to enhance team effectiveness.
  4. Lead cross-functional teams on system interaction issues and ensure resolution.
  5. Establish dashboards, metrics, and SLAs for support activities.
  6. Create and update maintenance manuals, fault isolation manuals, and service bulletins.
  7. Review system data logs to proactively identify defects.
  8. Generate weekly and monthly reports on issues, resolutions, and SLA compliance.
  9. Serve as SME for hardware-related issues and provide training to team members.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 5 years in fleet support or engineering, preferably in avionics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience troubleshooting aircraft equipment and using electronic test equipment.
  • Strong ability to read electrical schematics and knowledge of aircraft wiring (power, data bus, discrete I/O, Quadrax).
  • Experience with avionics and flight systems.
  • U.S. Person status required (US citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual).
Preferred Skills
  • FAA Airframe & Power Plant Certifications.
  • Familiarity with Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Linux, Windows, and IP networking.
  • Knowledge of FAA, RTCA, and ARINC standards.
