Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Wind Turbine Support Engineer to aid the installed fleet through issue resolution, diagnostics, and fleet configuration. You will maintain fleet data, manage outages, and provide escalated technical solutions from the Services team.

The role requires engineering education, US work authorization, and the ability to climb 5–10% of the time. Strong communication and project management skills are essential to drive availability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Engineering or equivalent with wind turbine experience requirement

• Experience with mechanical wind turbine subsystems (gearboxes, main bearings, pitch bearings, bolted joints, yaw)

• Strong project management skills
• Drug screen completion as applicable

Responsibilities

• Support the installed wind turbine fleet through customer issue resolution and fleet-wide issue management
• Implement service bulletins and monitor diagnostics and fleet configuration
• Maintain fleet data and manage outages, ensuring data integrity
• Provide engineering solutions, repairs, and escalations for issues from the Services team
• Improve wind turbine availability and production targets through technical leadership
• Integrate customer data to enhance reliability, availability, maintenance and safety parameters
• Serve as central point of contact for customer technical inquiries and communicate complex information clearly
• Mentor junior team members and consult senior staff on complex issues

Job description

• Support the installed wind turbine fleet through customer issue resolution, fleet-wide issue management, service bulletin implementation, monitoring and diagnostics, and fleet configuration


• Maintain fleet data, manage outages, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of fleet information


• Provide technical engineering solutions, repairs, and escalations for problematic issues escalated from the Services team


• Resolve technical customer issues and help deliver wind turbine availability and production objectives


• Enhance services technology by integrating customer data, reliability, availability, maintenance, safety, and other performance parameters


• Serve as the central point of contact for customer technical inquiries


• Communicate complex technical information clearly and professionally


• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members


• Consult senior team members on issues outside defined instructions or parameters

Requirements

• Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 2 years of experience in the Wind Turbine Industry


• Legally authorized to work in the United States


• Willing and able to climb and work at heights as needed 5–10% of the time


• Strong oral and written communication skills


• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs


• Experience with mechanical wind turbine subsystems, such as gearboxes, main bearings, pitch bearings, bolted joints, and yaw systems


• Ability to present technical data succinctly and clearly


• Technical versatility and experience with wind turbine production and performance
