Job summary

Voith US Inc. is seeking a Field Service Manager to plan and manage field service scope of projects within budget and schedule. You will develop concepts, execution plans and cost estimates, and ensure information availability for site assessments with active customer engagement.

Ideal candidates will have a degree in engineering or related experience, familiarity with turbines and turbines’ balance of plant equipment, and prior site management experience. Some travel to sites is expected.

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience and technical understanding of turbines, generators and balance of plant equipment.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schedules and budgets.
• Previous site manager or supervisor experience on a Hydro Turbine/Generator project is an asset.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; MS Office proficiency.
• Some travel to project sites is expected.

Responsibilities

• Developsconcepts,executionplansand cost estimatesfor field service scope of proposals.
• Understandstechnical requirements as well aslegal/regional regulations.
• Ensures availability of all required information.Participates in site assessments.
• Facilitatesclarifications with customers.
• Preparesspecifications forpurchasedservices/supplies and evaluates bids/offers.
• Identifiesrisks and opportunitiesduringproposalphase and defines contingency plans.
• Facilitatesproject startup anddetailsfield service concept/plansduring project execution.
• Participatesin design reviewmeetings and ensuresfield relateddesign considerations.
• Develops and ensures availability ofprojectspecificproceduresandsafety assessments.
• Determinessite layouts,tooling/fixturesand site infrastructurerequirements.
• Ensures availability of HSE and quality plans and documents.
• Supportsproject managers andsite managers in executing the field service scope of projects.
• Monitors target achievementregardingquality, schedule, costs andsupportscorrective actions.
• Facilitates identification and allocation ofrequiredinternal and external resources.
• Providestechnical support and advice to field sites.

Qualifications

• University diploma in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.

• Capable ofreading and interpreting blueprints, specifications,schedulesand budgets.
• Previousexperience as site manager orsupervisor on Hydro Turbine/GeneratorProjectan asset.
• Good communicationand interpersonalskills
• Fully computer literate MS office suite.
• Some travelling to various project sites is to be expected.
