Job summary

Collins Engineers in Denver, CO is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer to join our bridge and transportation structural inspection team. This role offers hands-on project ownership and opportunities to contribute to preserving critical infrastructure.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, 0–4 years of experience, and the ability to obtain an Engineer-In-Training designation within one year. Relocation assistance is available to support new hires.

This position offers individuals interested in the preservation of critical infrastructure the space to thrive. Typical Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs inspection/fieldwork of bridges and transportation structures that does not require previous experience.
  • Reviews and interprets plans and design drawings.
  • Documents findings and assists in the completion of inspection and assessment reports.
  • Supports the development of recommendations for maintenance or repairs.
  • Prepares design computations and quantity estimates.
  • Collaborates with senior engineers/technicians on inspections.
  • Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare project deliverables.
  • Engages in limited travel for on-site inspections as required.
  • Is active in technical societies.
  • Is able to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
  • Communicates effectively with engineering teams and project stakeholders.
  • Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety.
  • Participates in training programs to enhance inspection skills.

Qualifications and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university plus appropriate continuing education.
  • 0-4 years of experience.
  • Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) or ability to obtain within one year.
