American Electric Power is seeking an entry-level Engineer/Engineering Technologist SG6 to join our on-site teams in New Albany, OH or Tulsa, OK. You will apply engineering knowledge to SCADA, RTU, alarms, and I/O settings, supporting stakeholders and learning through diverse projects.

This role emphasizes problem solving, teamwork, and opportunities to advance toward PE licensing while reading drawings and contributing to compliance efforts.

Qualificações

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree; FE/PE licensing encouraged.
• EIT/FE in preparation for PE licensing preferred.
• Electrical engineering background preferred for this role.
• Experience reading drawings/schematics is useful.

Beginning to expand communication technology competency to include legacy applications (Async, Sync, AEP, etc) Able to support stakeholders with common SCADA related issues.Able to complete alarm and basic I/O 2411 settings for both greenfield and brownfield projects with limited supervision. Implements standards in appropriate measures with limited guidance from higher-level team members.Assists higher level team members with overall SCADA compliance items.Experience in reading drawings/schematics used in Electrical Engineering and other disciplines.Technical Expertise: Possesses advanced knowledge and performs varied assignments with proficiency in the application of theory and analytical techniques to solve diverse problems and complete extensive analyses. Understands interrelationship between systems and component equipment. Analyzes and recommends enhancements to business processes.Leadership and Guidance: Coordinates work activities of others within the work group, department, or other corporate entity as necessary to perform routine engineering work. Performs routine engineering activity independently. Provides training and guidance to lower-level employees.
