AEP is seeking an Engineer/Technologist to perform complex engineering work under supervision, across grades 7–9, focusing on safe, efficient and economical delivery of assigned projects in Roanoke, VA. You will develop technical solutions and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities include leading work activities, planning with CPM/PERT methods, ensuring compliance with codes, and guiding less senior engineers.

Based on education, experience and interview, this opportunity will be filled commensurately at any title in the Engineer/ Technologist job family. Minimum requirements are written at the lowest grade. Increased expectations are at higher grades.
Basic Qualifications: Engineer (Grade 07) Salary Range-$87,633-- $106,353. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET* with typically Four(4) or more years of related engineering experience. *Engineers with a Master's Degree in Engineering from a program accredited by ABET* may be considered for entry into the organization at Grade 06 level. Capabilities: Adaptability, Work Standards, Execution, Technical and Professional Knowledge, Lives the AEP Values License: Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico** is encouraged and preferred. ** Confirmation is required to ensure the PE obtained in Puerto Rico aligns with NCEES standards.
Basic Qualifications Engineer Sr. (Grade 08): Salary Range- $98,993- $124,940 Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET* with typically six (6) or more years related engineering experience OR four (4) years of related engineering experience along with a Master's or PhD in engineering from a program accredited by ABET*. Capabilities: Adaptability, Work Standards, Execution, Technical and Professional Knowledge, Lives the AEP Values License: Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico** is required for this position unless approval to waive this requirement is given by the organization's EVP. ** Confirmation is required to ensure the PE obtained in Puerto Rico aligns with NCEES standards. Acceptable alternatives are: (1) a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (non-ABET), plus a Professional Engineers (PE) license in any state of the U.S. or (2) a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master’s degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor’s program.** Confirmation is required to ensure the PE obtained in Puerto Rico aligns with NCEES standards.
Engineer Prin(Grade 9) $Salary Range-116,255- $151,132 Has typically acquired 8 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET*; or 6 years of related engineering experience along with a Master's or PhD in engineering from a program accredited by ABET*. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico** is preferred for this position unless approval to waive this requirement is given by the organization's EVP.*ABET - Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. Acceptable alternative is: (1) a Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program.** Confirmation is preferred to ensure the PE obtained in Puerto Rico aligns with NCEES standards. ***VP or above may waive the requirement for a degree from a university with a Non ABET accredited program

Compensation Grade: SP20-008 Compensation Range: $87,633.00 - $151,132.50
