Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Engineer Drafter in Reston, Virginia to develop and modify detailed engineering drawings, models, and documentation for complex facilities. You will use CAD/CAM/CATIA/BIM tools to produce 3D BIM models and 2D drawings across multiple disciplines.

The role requires active TS/SCI clearance, strong attention to detail, and effective communication with senior officials. You will work on an interdisciplinary government/contractor team in a fast-paced setting at a government

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI Polygraph clearance and U.S. Citizenship required.
• Working knowledge of engineering standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with less than 2 years' experience.
• Degree in BIM-related discipline preferred (Civil/Structural/Architectural/Construction Management).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D BIM models and 2D CAD drawings across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Create, maintain, and enhance project BIM libraries, templates, metadata, and annotations.
• Perform clash detection and resolve spatial conflicts before design completion.
• Audit models for data integrity, spatial accuracy, and LOD compliance.
• Generate technical reports, measurements, material schedules, cross-sections from models.
• Participate in model coordination reviews and client meetings.
• Support technical solutions with SME collaboration and detailed analysis.
