Job summary

ProAmpac is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to lead the development of a Manufacturing metrics dashboard and drive efficiency across departments.

You will analyze processes, charter improvement projects, and collaborate with operations, IT and accounting to capture needs and deliver actionable insights. This is an on-site role with travel up to 10% and a focus on safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

  • Four-year technical degree or CI practitioner training with relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with operations personnel.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • General knowledge of manufacturing and quality standards for products.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and daily process issues.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a metrics dashboard for all manufacturing departments.
  • Maintain dashboard with monthly snapshots.
  • Analyze processes for efficiency, cost, and quality improvements.
  • Identify opportunities from data and present findings to management.
  • Charter projects to resolve identified problem areas.
  • Support Operational Excellence teams on onsite projects as needed.
  • Collaborate with operations, IT, and accounting to understand user needs.
  • Conduct training and provide ongoing support to employees.
  • Help achieve budgeted savings through process improvements.
  • Travel up to 10% to supported sites.

Description

The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing an overall metrics dashboard for the manufacturing location. This role involves analyzing and identifying areas for improvement. This role will charter projects to identify identified problem areas. This position is an on-site position, working with our Continuous Improvement team. Will travel to sites as needed.

Essential Duties and Tasks:
  • Develop and implement an overall metrics dashboard for all manufacturing departments.

  • Maintain the dashboard once implemented by creating monthly snapshots.

  • Analyze current processes and identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality. Develop and implement strategies leveraging corporate systems to streamline operations and enhance productivity.

  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement. Organize data and present findings and recommendations to management.

  • Charter projects to resolve problem areas identified.

  • Support Operational Excellence teams with onsite projects as needed.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, IT & Accounting, to understand user needs and requirements.

  • Conduct training sessions and provide ongoing support to employees.

  • Help businesses achieve budgeted savings through process improvements.

  • Utilize continuous improvement methodologies, tools, and technical problem-solving to improve all operational areas.

  • Identify and share best practices.

  • Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Travel is required (up to 10%)

Qualifications and Experience Preferred:
  • Four-year technical degree or Continuous Improvement practitioner training with relevant work experience in manufacturing required

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, to work with manufacturing operations personnel

  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • General knowledge of manufacturing, including the desired properties and quality standards for products

  • Must have strong time management skills to handle multiple ongoing projects in addition to day-to-day process problems

  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and the ability to quickly learn software needed to perform job-specific duties. Flexible Packaging Industry experience is a plus, but not required.
