Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking an Engineer 2 for the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) unit in Tysons, Virginia.

You will design, engineer, integrate, operate and maintain electronic security services including intrusion detection, access control, biometrics, video surveillance, IT systems, and command and control for federal, local, and commercial clients. Ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in a related field and 2+ years of experience, ability to obtain SECRET clearance, and willingness to travel up

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope and complexity.
• Ability to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
• Must obtain Security+ within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining system documentation and maintenance records; generate status reports.
• Install and configure networks based on an IDP to meet customer needs.
• Research equipment to resolve issues during installation and testing.
• Support a large-scale HPC center; manage systems, workstations, and interfaces.
• Provide designs for automation systems; create material lists.
• Create user guideline documents for custom programs and applications.

We are seeking a Engineer 2 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining system documentation and maintenance records and generate weekly and/or monthly summary status reports.
• Spending four (4) to six (6) hours per week staying current on industry trends and available products and services.
• Performing staging and setup as needed for project support and for self-instruction.
• Working closely with Systems Engineers to install and configure networks based on an Installation Design Package (IDP) that satisfy the customer's needs.
• Researching equipment from a multitude of manufactures to resolve technical issues during installation and testing.
• Working closely with Design Department to identify and correct design problems during the design cycle.
• Suggesting process improvements and cost savings to aid Implementation Department for future installs.
• Providing systems support for a large-scale, high performance computing center to include the installation and management of computer systems, workstations, operating systems, peripherals, and system interfaces; works with senior staff to monitor system usage and evaluate performance against defined performance goals; additional duties include the development and maintenance of systems documentation.
• Provides designs for automation systems including a list of quantities and types of materials used.
• Provide user guideline documentations and manuals for user end custom programs and applications.
• Works within a lab enviroment, learning different IT and ESS systems. Qualifications Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; Ability to obtain a SECRET Clearance is REQUIRED Education/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required with 2+ years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity. with the provision of SE services for physical security system and IT solutions.
• Must obtain a Security+ within 6-months.
