Position Description

We are seeking an Engineer 1 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. As part of SES, you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high‑growth markets.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining system documentation and maintenance records and generate weekly and/or monthly summary status reports.
• Spend four (4) to six (6) hours per week staying current on industry trends and available products and services.
• Perform staging and setup as needed for project support and for self‑instruction.
• Work closely with Systems Engineers to install and configure networks based on an Installation Design Package (IDP) that satisfies the customer's needs.
• Research equipment from a multitude of manufacturers to resolve technical issues during installation and testing.
• Work closely with Design Department to identify and correct design problems during the design cycle.
• Suggest process improvements and cost savings to aid Implementation Department for future installs.
• Provide systems support for a large‑scale, high performance computing center to include the installation and management of computer systems, workstations, operating systems, peripherals, and system interfaces; work with senior staff to monitor system usage and evaluate performance against defined performance goals; additional duties include development and maintenance of systems documentation.
• Provide designs for automation systems including a list of quantities and types of materials used. Provide user guideline documentation and manuals for user end custom programs and applications.

Qualifications

Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; requires ability to obtain a secret clearance.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required with 0+ years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity, with the provision of SE services for physical security system and IT solutions.

Desired Skills:

• Strong oral, written and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
• Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills is a plus.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.
