Job summary

Kolter Hospitality is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for Embassy Suites Sarasota to support hotel operations through proactive maintenance and timely repairs. This role covers mechanical, electrical, plumbing and carpentry tasks to keep systems running and guest areas safe and comfortable.

Based at Embassy Suites Sarasota, the technician will respond to service requests, document activities, and adhere to safety procedures. Weekend/holiday availability is required; pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and building maintenance preferred.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Proper uniform and punctual attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain facility building and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance across the property (mechanical, electrical, painting, carpentry, plumbing).
• Respond to elevator breakdowns promptly.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Address engineering service requests courteously and efficiently.
• Keep the engineering work area clean and organized.
• Return tools and equipment to storage after use.
• Assist in emergencies to protect guests and staff and secure systems.

Overview

A Kolter Hospitality Maintenance Engineer delivers service excellence and facilitates a positive guest experience while maintaining the overall operation of the maintenance department. This position is responsible for hotel maintenance including preventative maintenance and equipment repairs.

Performance Expectations

• Repair and maintain facility building and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance throughout the property such as mechanical, electrical, painting, carpentry and plumbing.
• Respond to elevator breakdowns.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Respond and resolve engineering service requests in courteous, efficient manner.
• Maintain engineering work area in an orderly and clean fashion.
• Ensure all tools/equipment used are returned to the shop and/or secured in proper storage area.
• Assist in handling emergencies in order to protect our guests and team members and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency.
• Follow proper lost and found procedures for items left behind in a guest room.
• Report any items in need of repair.
• Follow all safety procedures while working.

Qualifications & General Requirements

• Able to work most weekends and holidays.
