Job summary

Auberge in Santa Fe is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to lead projects from start to finish and keep a safe, productive work environment. This role requires hands-on repair of hotel systems and active participation in on-call emergencies.

The position emphasizes troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure guest comfort and operational efficiency. Strong English communication and valid driver's license are expected.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of experience as an Engineer or Maintenance Technician, preferably in a hotel or property management setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical schooling is a plus.
• Must be able to operate all hotel systems and associated equipment; familiarity with vendors to identify replacement parts and tools.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair hotel systems including HVACR, laundry, kitchen, water/wastewater, carpentry, tile, plumbing, painting and minor automotive repairs.
• Maintain complete knowledge of hotel fire, water, sewage and irrigation systems.
• Respond to guest requests promptly.
• Respond to emergencies or life-threatening situations in a timely manner.
• Follow established safety procedures and log essential information in engineering logs.
• Duties include emergency on-call status.

Job Description

This individual will be comfortable leading various projects from start to finish as well as focused on maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair all hotel systems including all H.V.A.C&R systems, laundry equipment, kitchen equipment, water and wastewater systems, carpentry, tile, plumbing, painting and minor automotive repairs.
• Maintain complete knowledge of hotel fire system, water system, sewage system, and irrigation system
• Respond to all Guest Requests within a very timely manner
• Respond to all emergency or life threatening situations
• Follow established safety procedures
• Log and communicate all essential information in Engineering logs
• Duties include emergency on call status

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-4 year experience as an Engineer / Maintenance Technician, preferably within a hotel or property management environment
• High school diploma or equivalent, Technical school desired
• Must be able to operate all Hotel systems and associated equipment
• Need to be familiar with associated vendors and able to identify replacement parts, materials, and necessary tools
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions on assembly of mechanical equipment and furniture as well as follow directions on warning labels
• Ability to communicate in English with guests, co-workers, and management
• Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record
