Job summary

Grunley, a full-service construction firm in the Washington metropolitan area, seeks an entry-level Engineer to support project management and field superintendent teams. The role involves attending meetings, surveying sites, verifying dimensions, tracking progress, and assisting with LEED submittals and cost proposals.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Attend project meetings and record minutes
  • Survey and layout job site
  • Verify field dimensions
  • Walk the job site and monitor progress
  • Monitor project for unsafe conditions
  • Prepare, review and mark-up submittals and shop drawings
  • Take site-work progress photos
  • Prepare daily reports and document manpower counts
  • Update record drawings
  • Prepare work plans & outages requests
  • Assist with sub coordination and CPM schedule update
  • Assist with LEED submittals & tracking
  • Process RFIs
  • Procure and track materials
  • Assist with subcontractor buy-out
  • Assist with estimating take-offs
  • Assist with cost proposal preparation
  • Attend company training seminars

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Construction Management/Business or related field

An Engineer is an entry-level role learning the foundations of General Contracting. An Engineer will support and learn from both project management and field superintendent teams.

Requirements

Required Education- Bachelor’s degree in: Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.

Comprehensive benefits will be discussed during the recruitment process; base salaries will be determined by skills, position, education. experience, market consideration, and geographic location. The salary range for this role will be $75,000.00-$90,000.00.
