Job summary

The Hotel Maintenance Technician at Dolphin Hotels Westin Rancho Mirage in Rancho Mirage, CA is responsible for maintaining the physical functionality and safety of the hotel’s facilities, including routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and guest work orders.

  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • EPA certification or other relevant licenses are a plus.
  • Physically demanding role; may involve long periods of standing, bending, lifting, or working in high or confined spaces.
  • May be exposed to loud noises, extreme temperatures, or hazardous materials.
  • Uniform and safety equipment typically provided.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance tasks including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
  • Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain the physical appearance of the hotel, including interior and exterior areas.
  • Assist in preventive maintenance schedules for guest rooms, public spaces, and back‑of‑house areas.
  • Monitor and operate building automation systems and respond to alerts or alarms.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and hotel policies.
  • Report any major repair needs or hazards to the Chief Engineer.
  • Assist other departments with set‑ups, moves, and minor repairs as needed.
  • Stay up to date on safety protocols and participate in emergency procedures or drills.

Job Summary
